Thoughts.. .

Some say the process of maturing says we should never be too comfortable. When we are too comfortable we tend to be complacent and not grow. On the other hand, some people say that to mature is to finally become comfortable and secure in one’s self. The mentality of always trying to attain perfection is one that only drains life instead of giving it.

I’ve heard some say that to truly love someone is to care so much for them that they’ll constantly correct and encourage one to keep growing. In a sense, it’s loving one so much that they refuse to let them wallow in wrong. Some people say to truly love someone is to fully accept a person for who they are without any conditions ever. In a sense, it’s to give company and rest to the lonely and tired.

I know people who encourage others by telling them to let go of certain things in their life whether it be bitterness, anger, or in my case, false expectations. Some people carry too much on their backs. I’ve also heard other people encourage others by asking them to take on the responsibilities they’ve long left ignored like facing a person who’s hurt them or admitting their wrongs in humility. Some people don’t carry nearly enough of their share.

I know people who carry a great deal of pride that blinds them to anything wrong that they may be doing. They walk around like unshakable rocks rolling from one spot to the next. Not only do they seem to support much, they also crush much. I know others who think so little of themselves that they are blind to anything they may be doing right. They are like the rain clouds that can only see the darkness they cover Earth in, never realizing that the water they shed is life giving.

What is speaking the Truth in Love? What is living right? It’s somewhere in between where the tension of extremes holds it all together. For every circumstance, one must but ask the Lord for the wisdom and discernment to place each in its right place.

Current State of Spirit: Just Being. In these last two weeks of school, closure and transitions are the cruxes of life. In the process of living a day at a time however, it can be a little hard to have a handle on how it will all turn out. Perhaps learning to trust more should be another high priority.
